OUT OF THE ICE
#2 Out of the Ice'
is an historical overview of the earliest cultures in Alaska, and Canada and
ancient migratory routes since the Paleo-Arctic period in North America.
Archaeological and paleographic sources are examined to allow us to
understand the distribution of indigenous societies. Early hunting tools are
illustrated also 'Finds'from the Bluefish Caves together with an overview of
the more recent Woodland period in Manitoba. Paleography is observed by
linguistic comparisons of the Dene and Chipweyan languages and an interesting
comparison of Chipweyan to Apache reflecting an archaic movement south over
the centuries (as did the Navajo) from Northwestern Canada. |
